Since 2001 I have been trying to take photos of all existing locks of the Old Canal. In the meantime I have found about 60 more or less well preserved locks and some ruins. The photographs are displayed below. All locks without photograph were destroyed during the years since 1945 - partially during World War 2, partially by the building of motorway A73 or last but not least due to building of the new canal, the Main-Danube Canal also called Europe Canal. For hints about remains of the canal, that are not displayed here I would be very appreciative.
By clicking onto a single picture below a large version (1000 x 750 pixel) of the picture will be displayed. Clicking the large picture will bring you back to this overview. For locks marked with there exists an additional page with more pictures and/or information about this lock or its surroundings.
